Treasure Hunt

The Kitchner Waterloo library has opened. I am proud to have designed the glass wall in the children’s section. The wall helps to create an environment in the creative area where kids make art from being distracted by the goings on in the library. So the bottom 4.5′ is opaque with burrowing animals from Canada. The top 5′ has transparent areas where parents can look inside to watch their children. Note that in some places they can actually put their face in the centre of a flower.
I feel very lucky to have worked with the team at Levitt Goodman and Associates Architects to create this work. I also owe a great deal to Susan Fleming Design for her collaboration on the computer version of the work.
